Closer look at NYX's mega shine lip gloss in "Pink Rose."
In the summer I tend to gravitate towards brighter colors, and this summer has been no exception. I love the colors and formulations of all of the lippies shown which is pretty important to me since I'm pretty picky about lip products.

Here's where you can get these lip products:

MAC's Surf Baby lip stick in the color "Hibiscus" was limited edition, so It's sadly not available.

Two Toned Lips Inspired by Nasty Gal's Blog

My sister in-law Esther sent me link to Nasty Gal's blog post featuring "Two-Toned Lips," which you can check out here

My version is definitely different from the blog post, but I wanted to do something super wearable (and cheaper) that people wouldn't be afraid to do.

For the top lip I chose Nyx's lipstick in Narcissus which is a super pretty bubblegum pink color ~ you can find this color here.

And for the bottom lip I took Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (I did a review on these that you can watch here) in the color Lovesick ~ you can find it here.

I did the bottom lip first, but I don't imagine it would matter which order you went in.After I applied both colors I blotted excess lipstick/balm and voila! Wearable two-toned lips.

P.S. Keep in mind that the two colors will probably mix with each other throughout the day, so make sure you have both colors handy to do touch-ups!

Lately

Oh my goodness, life is crazy lately. I just started my Fall semester of sophomore year last week and I already have piles of homework... how is that even possible? *Sigh* I am kinda excited to see how this semester pans out, but being a college student might slowly make me crazy. Anyone else have that feeling?

Anyway, here's some of the things I've been loving lately:

1. Lattes - Well, duh. Girl has got to stay awake somehow.

2. Tea - I used to not like tea very much but lately it's amaaazing, especially when iced.

3. Sleep - lets just say I appreciate it a lot right now.

4. September Magazine issues - They're huge, and filled with clothes, shoes, and makeup. What more could a girl ask for?

5. Liz Lovely gluten-free cookies - by far the best gluten-free cookies ever made and they don't actually taste gluten free (Check them out here)

6. Fall - I don't know about you, but I get so excited when I know Fall is so close. I love Fall so much it's crazy. The clothes, weather, and pumpkin flavored everything is ideal.

7. Books - Just finished Scott Westfield's Leviathan, and now I'm reading Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise.

8. Aristocats! - Loved this movie when I was a little kid, and it just came out of the Disney vault this past Tuesday (Buy it Here)

9. Etsy - There are not enough good things to say about this site. Every time I go to the on the site I want to buy practically everything! Check out some of the things I've been wanting here, here, and here.

10. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stains - I'm about to make a review about these, but lets just say they're pretty much my favorite lip products at the moment.

P.S. All of the photos above are from Instagram, follow me (alyarmstrong)!

What I'm Loving (November)

What I'm Loving (November)

What I'm Loving (November) by simplyme93 on Polyvore.com

1. Vera Wang Princess - I love this scent, very sweet and feminine with hints of vanilla, water lily, and lady apple, just to name a few, oh, and the scent description also says it has a hint of pink frosting. What's not to love about that?

2.  Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula lotion - Contains Vitamin E and heals rough dry skin... which is super important for me especially in the winter, because my skin gets really dry. Also, this smells like some delicious dessert, it's really lovely. I put this all over my face, neck, elbows, and hands before I go to sleep. This really works for me.

3. NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils - They come in a wide range of colors and are so great for color bases for your eye lids.

4. O.P.I - I love this brand of nail polish! the brush is wide so that it covers your nail in only 3 swipes and the staying power is really long-lasting. Specific color is "Glitzerland"

5. EOS Sphere - I love love love this product! So great for Fall/Winter months to keep your lips smooth, and it's all natural, which means it doesn't contain any parabens. I will do a more in-depth review sometime in the near future.

6.  MAC Blushes - The specific color shown is "Breezy", I especially love this color for Fall & Winter because it gives a great color that is great for that pop of color in the cold months. Also, MAC blushes are very smooth and apply amazingly.

7. Benefit High Beam - Gives your cheek bones and under the brow bone a really nice glow

8. Revlon Lip Gloss - Goes on smoothly with a sponge-tip applicator, with really great colors. My personal favorites are "Lilac Pastelle" and "Nude Lustre".

9. Stila Pro- Artists Palette No. 1 - Read my in-depth review here on my blog. http://simplyme93.blogspot.com/2010/11/stila-pro-palette.html

10. Benefit Hoola Bronzer - A lovely matte bronzer that works really well, and is amazing especially for winter months, especially since I'm so pale to begin with.

11. MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline - MAC's black gel liner is, in one word, amazing. It's really creamy and goes on smoothly, great for winged-liner.

12. Dark Purple Nail Polish -  I think dark purple polish looks edgy and pretty without being overpowering like a black polish, the specific color I'm really liking is "First Class Ticket" by China Glaze.
