Products I Won't Repurchase

I enjoy reading posts about products that people have tested out and either like or don't like; I feel like it is a great way to see what products are actually worth spending your well-earned money on and which ones you should just skip.

So today I'm writing about a few products that I have tried out multiple times and didn't end up liking. I hope you find this helpful!

I don't know anyone who doesn't like products to be quick and easy, especially when you're working with very little time to get ready in the morning...

I thought this product was going to be amazing, "it's going to be so simple!" I thought, but no, it's a hot mess trying to work with this dual ended, cream shadow on one side, powder on the other, eyeshadow stick

Let me go on record, however, and say that the colors are stunning (I'm a sucker for rose gold) and I truly wish that I loved this product, but unfortunately the consistency of the cream and the fall-out/inconvenience of rolling the powder out makes this product something I will not be repurchasing.

MAC's Magically Cool Liquid Powder in 'Truth and Light' ~ $30

I loved this product at first, it has perfectly light coverage and a nice shimmer, and most importantly it had this really neat "cooling" property when applied to the skin (which is perfect during the Summer).

Unfortunately, though, this product doesn't maintain the "cooling" property, which was a huge bummer because that was the main purpose of it.

I just used it as a highlight after the "magically cooling" effect wore off , which was fine, but I definitely wouldn't spend another $30 to buy it again.

Out of all the products I'm showing in this post this one is definitely the most hated.

I bought this one because I was in a hurry at the store and I needed a new concealer, so I just decided to try it out. Plus, it looks pretty cool because it's supposed to adjust to your specific skin color to cover up any blemishes or under-eye circles. . . but this product is ridiculously bad. It starts out white and once blended slightly changes color, but it's hard to deal with because it's so liquid-y and barely has any coverage (and a concealer should actually... conceal, you know?).

Definitely not a fan, and I'll be sticking with my MAC Mineralize Concealer in NW15 from now on.

I wasn't really expecting much from this product since it is so cheap, but I thought I would try it out since I typically like ELF products and they sometimes surprise me with their quality.

I'm not a fan of this eyeshadow, however, because it's just so. . . messy. There is a ton of fall-out once applied and trying to get it out of the packaging is such a hassle and it gets powder everywhere, so  it's not really even worth the three bucks.

Lets be real, $1 for a eyeshadow primer is fan-freaking-tastic, and totally perfect for someone who is  just starting out with makeup, but for someone who is used to using Urban Decay's Primer Potion or Two Face's Shadow Insurace, this primer just doesn't cut it.

It's creamy and blends relatively easy and doesn't leave any streaks, but it simply is not long-lasting. I tried this multiple times and regretted it every single time because my eyeshadow would start creasing and fading, so I'm definitely not buying this again.

That's it (for now at least)! I hope this post was helpful and gives you a better idea of what not to buy when shopping around.

What are some products that you regret buying and won't be repurchasing? Let me know in the comments!

 Cheers

MAC Wonder Woman

Amazon Princess Blush

The MAC Wonder Woman collection is finally here! I've been waiting for it since I heard about it back in the Summer. The collection came out online about a week ago and in-stores yesterday (2/10/11)

I will admit... I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. I had several things I wanted to pick up, since I was looking at swatches online, but in all honesty, when I got there I wasn't in-love with all of the products. The only product I really really wanted was the powder blush in "Amazon Princess". I might go back and decide if I want anything else, but who knows.

I really love this powder blush though, I've been wearing it since I bought it, the colors are gorgeous, the pigmentation is amazing, and I've noticed it is really long-lasting. This blush has more product than the regular MAC powder blushes, with 11 grams and the regular blushes only having 6 grams. This blush is $24.50, whereas the regular blushes are only $18.50... but if you think about it, you're getting much more product for just a little bit more cost. It's a really good deal. Also, the packaging is really amazing, just look at it.

All in all, if you are going to pick something up from this collection... definitely get one of the powder blushes!

What I'm Loving (November)

What I'm Loving (November)

What I'm Loving (November) by simplyme93 on Polyvore.com

1. Vera Wang Princess - I love this scent, very sweet and feminine with hints of vanilla, water lily, and lady apple, just to name a few, oh, and the scent description also says it has a hint of pink frosting. What's not to love about that?

2.  Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula lotion - Contains Vitamin E and heals rough dry skin... which is super important for me especially in the winter, because my skin gets really dry. Also, this smells like some delicious dessert, it's really lovely. I put this all over my face, neck, elbows, and hands before I go to sleep. This really works for me.

3. NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils - They come in a wide range of colors and are so great for color bases for your eye lids.

4. O.P.I - I love this brand of nail polish! the brush is wide so that it covers your nail in only 3 swipes and the staying power is really long-lasting. Specific color is "Glitzerland"

5. EOS Sphere - I love love love this product! So great for Fall/Winter months to keep your lips smooth, and it's all natural, which means it doesn't contain any parabens. I will do a more in-depth review sometime in the near future.

6.  MAC Blushes - The specific color shown is "Breezy", I especially love this color for Fall & Winter because it gives a great color that is great for that pop of color in the cold months. Also, MAC blushes are very smooth and apply amazingly.

7. Benefit High Beam - Gives your cheek bones and under the brow bone a really nice glow

8. Revlon Lip Gloss - Goes on smoothly with a sponge-tip applicator, with really great colors. My personal favorites are "Lilac Pastelle" and "Nude Lustre".

9. Stila Pro- Artists Palette No. 1 - Read my in-depth review here on my blog. http://simplyme93.blogspot.com/2010/11/stila-pro-palette.html

10. Benefit Hoola Bronzer - A lovely matte bronzer that works really well, and is amazing especially for winter months, especially since I'm so pale to begin with.

11. MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline - MAC's black gel liner is, in one word, amazing. It's really creamy and goes on smoothly, great for winged-liner.

12. Dark Purple Nail Polish -  I think dark purple polish looks edgy and pretty without being overpowering like a black polish, the specific color I'm really liking is "First Class Ticket" by China Glaze.
